Meet Your Bookkeeper

Hi, I’m Laura Parker, founder and co-owner of Bookkeep Boss LLC.

Bookkeep Boss was built for business owners who want the financial side of their business to be as strong as the reputation they are building. I enjoy working closely with business owners to understand how their businesses operate and to make bookkeeping a more useful part of managing and growing the business.

My work is centered on helping you feel more informed and supported on the financial side of your business, with books that are organized, reconciled, and easier to use when you need answers.

I bring a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an accounting concentration, Certified QuickBooks Online Expert (Level 2) certification, and more than a decade of hands-on bookkeeping experience to the work I do with clients.

Our Approach to Supporting Your Business

Review-First Bookkeeping

We want to understand your business and how best to support you. That is why most new client relationship begins with a Bookkeeping Review.

The review gives us a clearer picture of the condition of your books, the systems connected to QuickBooks, and the areas that need attention. From there, we can recommend the appropriate work and create a roadmap for the next steps in our work together.

Most new clients begin with cleanup bookkeeping so prior months can be reviewed, corrected, and brought up to date before moving into ongoing monthly support.

Reconciliation-Led

We build your bookkeeping on a solid financial foundation by leading the work with reconciliations.

Bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and other key Balance Sheet accounts are reviewed and reconciled so your financial reports are supported by the underlying details, not just the transactions recorded in QuickBooks.

This creates clearer records for you and gives your CPA or tax professional financial information that is easier to review for tax planning and tax preparation. It also gives us a stronger starting point for addressing questions, monitoring changes, and preparing financial information for decisions, lending requests, or business changes.

A Clear Process for Working Together

Bookkeeping works best when there is a clear and consistent process behind it. We use an organized bookkeeping workflow to keep the work moving throughout the year. This includes how transactions are handled, how documents are gathered, and how questions or open items are tracked.

We will walk you through what is needed and establish a consistent way to provide documents, respond to questions, and keep the books current. This makes expectations clear and helps prevent important items from being missed or left unresolved.

Useful Reports

For ongoing bookkeeping clients, monthly financial reports provide a clearer view of how the business is performing.

Reports are prepared to help you review profit, expenses, and account activity. When it is useful to your business, we can also help you track trends over time, whether that means revenue, spending, payroll costs, property performance, cash activity, or other areas that matter to you.

Your books are maintained throughout the year so your CPA or tax professional has financial records and reports to review for tax planning and tax preparation.

We Stay Connected as Things Change

We stay involved throughout the year to help address bookkeeping questions, unusual transactions, reporting needs, cleanup items, and business changes that affect the books.

You work directly with the person responsible for your bookkeeping. We stay connected throughout the year to address bookkeeping questions, unusual transactions, reporting needs, cleanup items, and business changes that affect the financial records within the agreed scope.

The goal is to give you a consistent bookkeeping relationship, with financial records that stay organized, reconciled, and ready to support your business as it moves forward.
